Tris

Tris Vonna-Michell
Auto-Tracking: Ongoing Segments, 2008
Performance at Jan Mot, Brussels

In the installation Auto-Tracking, Vonna-Michell combined this visual material to form a story, in which several narrative strands interconnect. He told stories and recounted the history of places, people and objects and, in this, created a reality that interwove historical facts and fictions in a multitude of possible narratives. The two-part installation consisted, first, of a telephone station, with the help of which Vonna-Michell entered into direct contact with the viewers through an intimate dialogue, and, through specially selected images spread out on a table, further developed the performance in oral form with a breathtaking fast-speaking performance. For the second part, an almost identical installation was set up in another room of the Kunsthalle, in which the received calls were collected and archived.

The Information Delivery Service proudly announces its first public lecture on the topic of Information Speculation.
Attempts are being made by each one of us to make some sense of the constant stream of social, audio, spatial, visual, local and global information in which we find ourselves precariously spinning.
Each of us attempts to do so equipped with approximately 1.4kg of electrolysed grey matter. At this moment in time no method has yet been employed by the human race to absorb and funnel this data to a satisfactory level.
The IDS is dedicated to developing it's own idiosyncratic concepts of communication and information, knowledge and expertise.
They aim to dissolve these structures and wallow somewhere in between imagination and anxiety, taking pleasure in the inevitable impossibility of it all.

Shuffle

Shuffle (1961)

The performer or performers shuffle into the performance area and away from it, above, behind, around or through the audience. They perform as a group or solo: but quietly.

Before You Sleep.

On the 17/11/11 an event happened across four locations in Edinburgh between 22.00 and 00.00 hrs.

Each personal invitation included locations and was accompanied by a map.
A collective event between Faith Limbrick, Hazel France, Hannah Watt and myself.

I performed a piece involving sounds of the body.
